Vocational Studies

This Foundation Qualification is the equivalent of GCSE Grades D-G. It is designed for students who wish to strengthen their qualification profile prior to possible progression to a level 2 programme, further training or the world of work.
The course is designed to provide a selection of learning outcomes from a range of qualifications. Each qualification presents an array of experiences aimed at vocational sectors. Students will achieve a broad collection of skills and experiences.
The Foundation Vocational Course has benefitted from quality links from outside agencies and organizations and is enhanced through visits and guest speakers.
This 1 year course, comprises of the following assessed qualifications and units.


BTEC Introductory Certificate in IT@ Work
BTEC Award in Customer Service
Foundation Diploma Welsh Baccalaureate (including all six key skills)
Free Standing Mathematics
Free Standing English

How is the course assessed?

The course is assessed through a range of practical and non practical coursework. There are no written examinations excluding one Free Standing Mathematic unit.
