I'm so happy to be able to study history in a beautiful environment. St David's staff have been really helpful and they even managed to get me work experience at Castell Coch and Caerphilly Castle which fostered my interest in history even more."
Matthew Jones, a former pupil of Cathays High School is also off to Oxford. Travel-loving Matt has already spent time working as a volunteer in Africa. His A grades in English literature and language, geography, biology and art have secured his place at Mansfield College to read geography. He said: "I've very much enjoyed my time at St David's. It was hard work but worth it. I couldn't have done it without all of my teachers' help. The honours group was a great help to my academic development and Mr. Siemens has a great shoulder to lean on!"
