16.09.09 Partner School Successes at A-level

Former pupils from St David's four partner schools - Mary Immaculate, Corpus Christi, St Richard Gwyn and St Illtyd's have once again produced a number of students who have excelled at their A2 exams.

St Richard Gwyn High School

Helen Sanders a former pupil of St Richard Gwyn RC High School achieved four A grades and is going to study a general arts degree at Durham University. Helen will be joined at Durham by fellow former St Richard Gwyn pupil Niall Boys who gained 3 As and a B and is going to read maths. Other former pupils who achieved straight As are Jack Boylan, Charlotte Groves and Jade Hodgson. Sarah Vining is looking forward living on the Falmouth campus of Exeter University to study geography after achieving 2 As and a B.

Corpus Christi High School

Former Corpus Christi pupil Ryan Hughes obtained 3 As in law, history, English language and literature and a B in Spanish is just one of the many St David's students to have won a place to study at Cardiff Law School. Daniel Grech is going to study engineering at university after gaining 3 As including As in all his modules in further maths and chemistry. Ross Wardle had 2 As and a B and is going to read pharmacy at Cardiff University.

Mary Immaculate High School

Mays Mahdi a former pupil of Mary Immaculate High School has an A in chemistry and biology and a B in maths and will now study dentistry at Cardiff. Alicia Thomas gained 3 straight As in English language and literature, religious studies and sociology and Shauna O' Keeffe also gained an A in sociology as well as an A in law and a C in art. Shauna is looking forward to studying at Cardiff Law School. Joe Poole, a former head boy at Mary Immaculate, got a B, C and D in history, geography and law.

St Illtyd's High School

Jhon Ramirez, who's originally from Columbia, gained 2 Bs and C in maths, chemistry and biology and will take up his place to study engineering at Surrey University. Lisa Adams achieved an A in chemistry and geography and a B in biology while Silvia Mileidy De-Freitas Vivas was delighted with an A in Spanish, a B in health and social care, a B in AS French and an A* in GCSE Italian.

St David's College is immensely grateful to its four partner schools: Mary Immaculate, Corpus Christi, St Richard Gwyn High School and St Illtyd's High School for the high standard of teaching provided to their pupils until Year 11.
